With their ages and individual operational records, these young 'veterans' are - left to right - Warrant Officer Mellor, pilot, former accountant from Derby, age 25 - 29 operational trips; Flight Sergeant Webb, bomb aimer, a former clerk from Market Harborough, age 21 - 56 operational trips; Warrant Officer Quick, navigator, a former shop assistant from Taunton - age 23 - 54 operational trips; Flight Sergeant Alison, rear gunner, a former glass worker from Chelmsford, age 23 - 51 operational trips; Flight Sergeant Williamson, wireless operator/air gunner, a former shop assistant from Darlington, age 21 - 46 operational trips.
